How Many Qigong Exercises?

Hello

I’ve received this question enough times now to make me realize that it has not been explained clearly enough in the course material. The question follows this kind of format:

“Do I only practice the new pattern I learn each week, or do I add it to the ones I have already learned and practice them altogether?”

Let me make this ‘crystal’ clear for everyone. You only practice ONE qigong exercise per Qigong practice session.

Ideally you practice the exercise you have been shown in that weeks material. For two sessions every day. Ideally one in the morning and one in the evening.

If a particular exercise has a warning that people with a particular condition should not practice it, you will be advised to practice the previous weeks qigong exercise for another week. Though you may choose to practice a different exercise if your prefer.

The Qigong Secrets Homes Study Course (QSHSC) has been structured so that after the foundationS have been put in place (PERFECT) – you are introduced to a new pattern each week for the remainder of the course.

At the end of the QSHSC you are encouraged to reflect back on the 19 qigong exercises you have practiced and choose 2 or 3 that you wish to specialize on.

Again, you will only practice one of these patterns during a practice session. You can practice any pattern you like every now and then, just so you can remember how to do some of the others.

Remember, the emphasis is on developing skill. Out of the 100+ different qigong exercises, the one I practice the most is ‘Carrying the Moon’.

Why?

Because it is one of my favorite Qigong exercises and it helps to fulfill the aims and objectives I have for my practice.

I hope this subject is now clear for everybody:

One qigong exercise per practice session.

If you have any further questions, please ask them below so that everyone may benefit.

Kindest regards

Marcus

P.S. Yes there are some approaches to practicing Qigong where more than 1 qigong exercise is practiced during the session. Examples are Medical Qigong, Ba Duan Jin (8 pieces of brocade) and 18 Shaolin Exercises. Generally, all things being equal (which they rarely are) – these are ‘lower’ level than focusing on a single qigong exercise during your practice.

That’s why I recommend you practice ONE exercise per practice session because you will get better results.
